Have you ever seen the movie Down Periscope? Most people haven't, but it's a really funny movie - very campy, college humor type of hilarity. One of the characters was a radio man played by James Martin Jr. would have uncontrollable face twitches, body convolutions, and various other uncontrollable muscle spasms forcing him to change his character. In one exchange he is doing a perfect Sinatra, twitches and right into a full on Vin Scully without skipping a beat. Love that movie.
So what does this have to do with anything? This week we launched Autodesk Inventor 2011 on Project Twitch as part of our LABS technology previews. Project Twitch is a way of testing the remote delivery of our applications over that new fangled internet that everyone is always talking about. The kids and their toys... The goal with Twitch is to enable users to test out applications without having to download and install them.
*Twitch* What's that you say!!? Give Autodesk Inventor a good old tire kick without downloading a trial version, or even installing it for that matter? Yep. *Twitch* "bottom of the ninth, bases loaded and the Dodgers are down by 3. Full count, here's the swing..." *Twitch* Home Run! Grand Slam, round the bases boys - run Inventor remotely and see what Inventor 2011 is all about.
What else can you run on Twitch? Right now we have AutoCAD, Revit, and Maya alongside Inventor. And you can't save files, upload or download. We've put up a number of sample files for you to mess around with, and of course you can create a part from scratch. It's pretty sweet and an instant, zero impact way of checking out other applications or the latest release. I highly recommend checking it out.

*Twitch* "I get no kick from champagne... mere alcohol doesn't thrill me at all...." Ha! Right.
Cheers!
