Yep, it is impossible for me to not say baby post Vegas. Way too many hours watching Swingers, one of the greatest movies of my generation without question. Jon Favreau at his absolute best. Over the last couple of days I have a new found respect for actors and actresses. It is emotionally and mentally draining to be in front of a camera all day long. I got home last night from my shoot at a-dec completely worn out. Not sure if it had anything to do with the fact that a Cliff bar was my only subsentence that day or just being "on" all day.
I think its the latter. I know whoa is me... But it totally reminds me of Autodesk University. So much going on, so many people to network with, so many classed to attend (or teach) that at the end of the day you go back to the room and fall into... your party clothes and go out and enjoy yourself. Ha! What did you think I was going to say - go to sleep? It's Vegas.... Baby!
So what's the goings on. Let me give you my take on the things not to miss. Tuesday morning at 8:00 am Carl Bass is going to kick off the event with his Welcome Address/General Session Keynote. We are bringing in innovators from the worlds of design, engineering, entertainment, and technology to talk about the impact of some amazing projects and provide perspective on the current state of and future of design. Its always a hot session so don't miss that one.
Later on Tuesday at 2:00 pm is the Manufacturing Industry Keynote. This one is going to be awesome - we've got three customers lined up to give you their perspective on Digital Prototyping and how it is helping them solve their design challenges, lower cost of manufacturing, and challenge perceptions through innovation. Then I get to take the stage for the ever popular Hot Tech Session. Yep. Me, on stage talking about new product features and a little bit of what the future may hold. So don't miss it.
Lets see - Wednesday night after a full day of classes, who isn't going to need a beer? The annual AUGI Beer Bust will be in the exhibit hall again this year. Awesome. Also, Buzz Kross and I are going to be hosting a little Inventor Certified Expert shin-dig. Come on down and get your certification on, see if you can get a higher score than me....
Last but not least are my classes (hey, it's my blog I can promote if I want to...).
Tuesday at 3:30 - Garin Gardiner and I are teaming up for A Sneak Peek at the Next Release of Autodesk Inventor. Two hours of behind the curtain.
Thursday at 9:30 am - Part/Mold design and Optimization using Autodesk Inventor Tooling Lab. I'm really just emceeing this one. John Callen, Mark Flayler, and Kevin Smedley are the real gurus here and I'm glad to have them as Lab Assistants. Thanks guys.
Thursday at 3:00 pm. I Didn't Know Inventor Could Do That! - A compilation of all the tips and tricks I've picked up along the way. Did a preview of this a couple months ago and it was money so make sure you stop in on this one. For those of you attending Autodesk University Virtual (free for subscription customers) this class will be broadcast on Tuesday at 10:00 am and again at 6:00 pm.
You can find me at the Manufacturing Lounge the rest of the time. Track me down, lets shoot the breeze a bit. We're going to have a digital art gallery (all stuff created with Sketchbook), a few customer products to have a look at including the electric bike that broke a world record, plenty of demo stations, and an answer bar again so you can come on up and play a little stump the chump. Always good times.
See you in Vegas.....Baby.
