Because we don't need that level of design.

Because we've always done it this way.

We don't have time to train our designers on FEA.

Our current budget cannot bear the cost of actual analysis, maybe next year.

we're phasing safety out.

It's more important to us to have the product on the shelf early, than have it perform properly.

The client't budget will pay the extra material cost.

I'd prefer not to know if it will fail ahead of time. I like surprises.

We don't have a lot going on. We could use the redesign work.
